At Pingster, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and share information when you use our mobile application and related services.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, as well as information automatically collected when you use Pingster:

• Authentication Data: When you sign up, we collect your email address and profile information via Firebase Authentication.
• Profile Information: This includes your chosen username, full name, and avatar URL.
• User Content: We store the reminders you create, including descriptions, categories, and "Blind Box" content (text or image URLs).
• Social Interface Data: We store information about which users you have added as friends.
• Device and Communication Tokens: To provide core features, we collect and store:
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) tokens for push notifications.
  • Apple Push Notification service (APNs) device tokens specifically for managing Live Activities.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected data to provide and improve the Service, specifically to:

• Enable you to send and receive surprises and reminders.
• Process and reveal Blind Box content at the scheduled due date.
• Send time-sensitive push notifications about reminder events.
• Initiate and update Live Activity widgets on your iOS devices.
• Allow other users to find you via username or email in the search feature.
• Administer and protect our Service (including troubleshooting and data analysis).

3. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell your personal data. We share your information only with service providers required to operate Pingster:

• Google Firebase: Used for authentication, user analytics, and push notification delivery (FCM).
• Apple: Used for delivery of Live Activity updates via APNs.
• Supabase/PostgreSQL: Our chosen database provider for storing application state and user data.
• Image Hosting Services: If you upload images to a Blind Box, they are stored and served by our third-party image delivery partners.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

We store your data for as long as your account is active. You have the right to delete your account at any time.

When you delete your account through the app settings, we permanently remove your personal data from our primary databases and trigger the deletion of your account from Firebase Authentication. Please note that some logs may persist for a limited time in our backup systems but will be automatically overwritten according to our standard data lifecycle.

5. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including secure transmission (HTTPS) and encrypted storage where applicable.
