Terms of Use

Welcome to Pingster! These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Pingster mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Account Eligibility and Registration

You must be at least 13 years old to use Pingster. To access most features, you must register for an account using Firebase Authentication. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information.
• Maintain the security of your account credentials.
• Promptly notify us if you discover any security breaches related to your account.

2. Social Reminders and "Blind Boxes"

Pingster allows users to send reminders to other users ("Remindee"). Users may attach "Blind Boxes" containing text messages or images. You acknowledge and agree that:

• You are solely responsible for the content you upload to a Blind Box.
• Blind Box content remains locked and inaccessible to the Remindee until the specified "Due Date."
• You may only send reminders to users who have added you as a friend or whom you have a social connection with as permitted by the app's friendship model.
• You will not use the Service to harass, spam, or send unwanted content to other users.

3. User Content and Prohibited Conduct

You retain ownership of any content you post. However, you grant Pingster a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, store, and display that content solely for the purpose of providing the Service (e.g., displaying an image in a Blind Box).

You agree not to post content that:

• Is illegal, pornographic, or violent.
• Infringes on intellectual property rights.
• Contains viruses or malicious code.
• Attempts to circumvent the "locked" status of a Blind Box before its due date.

4. Live Activities and Notifications

By using Pingster, you consent to receive push notifications and utilize Live Activities. These features are designed to keep you updated on reminder statuses. You can manage these permissions in your device settings at any time.

5. Termination and Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time via the app settings. Deleting your account will result in the permanent removal of your profile, friendship data, and any pending reminders from our active databases, as well as the deletion of your Firebase Authentication record.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pingster shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your use of the Service, including the failure of a reminder to be delivered or the content of any Blind Box sent by another user.
